About this tool

Windows and Android cannot open .pages, and recipients ask for PDF - the classic Mac handoff problem. Apple already put the answer inside the file: every .pages package embeds a QuickLook preview PDF rendered by Apple's own engine. This tool extracts that embedded PDF as-is - layout exactly as previewed on a Mac.

Honest scope: you get Apple's preview render - for exotic fonts the preview may differ imperceptibly from the editing view; extracting the embedded preview is the only honest Pages→PDF path in a browser (the body is proprietary IWA, unparseable). Everything runs locally - nothing is uploaded.

Features

Frequently asked questions

How faithful is Pages to PDF?
The output is Apple's own preview render, matching what a Mac shows. Extremely exotic fonts can differ imperceptibly - still the most faithful browser-only path available.
Why not parse the Pages content directly?
The .pages body is Apple's proprietary IWA (protobuf) format - undocumented, with no JS parser. Online "deep converters" run Apple software on servers, which means uploading your file. Embedded preview extraction is the faithful and private route.
Does it work on iPhone/iPad?
Yes, the page works in mobile browsers. The iOS Pages app can also export PDF directly; this tool covers Windows/Android and no-app scenarios.
Is the file uploaded?
No - extraction runs in your browser and the .pages file never leaves the device.
