Supports .xlsx / .xls / .csv - one text block per worksheet
About this tool
For legacy imports, scripts or a quick paste, plain text is the easiest form. This tool exports every worksheet of .xlsx / .xls / .csv files as text: cells separated by tabs (or commas/spaces), one row per line, with [sheet name] sections when the workbook has several sheets.
The result shows up in an editable preview - tweak it and copy, or download a .txt file. Conversion runs locally in your browser - nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
- What separates the cells in the TXT output?
- Tabs by default - they align in Notepad and most tools; commas or spaces are also available. Tabs and line breaks inside cells are flattened to spaces so one row stays one line.
- Does the TXT keep the spreadsheet styling?
- No - plain text carries the values only: no colors, borders or formulas. That is exactly what TXT is for.
- How do I paste the result elsewhere?
- Hit Copy after converting; tab-separated text pastes into Excel or Google Sheets as proper columns.
- How are multiple worksheets handled?
- They export in order, each preceded by a [sheet name] line (optional); empty sheets are skipped.
