About this tool

From a fifty-page PDF you often need only a few pages: the signature page of a contract, one chapter of a handout, or individual scans to send to different people. This tool offers two modes - extract a page range, or split every page into a separate file - which between them cover almost every splitting job.

Page ranges accept commas and hyphens together, so 1-3,5,8-10 pulls those seven pages into a single new PDF. Choosing one file per page exports every page separately and bundles them into a ZIP. Thumbnails are generated after you add a file so you can confirm the page numbers first.

Features

  • Two modes: extract a page range, or one PDF per page
  • Ranges accept commas and hyphens, for example 1-3,5,8-10
  • Automatic thumbnail previews so you can check content before splitting
  • Per-page mode packs everything into a single ZIP download

How to use

  1. Drop or select the PDF you want to split
  2. Review the thumbnails to confirm the page count and positions
  3. Choose a mode: enter a page range, or switch to one file per page
  4. Click Extract pages or Split all pages - results download automatically

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF into individual pages?
Choose the "Split every page" mode. Each page is exported as its own PDF and everything is packed into a single ZIP download, with file names numbered by page so you can distribute or archive them page by page.
How do I extract only certain pages?
Use the "Extract pages" mode and write a page range: commas separate groups and a hyphen marks consecutive pages, so 1-3,5,8-10 means pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10. Duplicates are removed automatically, and out-of-bounds or reversed ranges are rejected with a message.
Do I need an account to extract PDF pages?
No. Extracting pages, splitting every page and ZIP packing are all free with no usage limit, and the output carries no watermark. Everything runs locally - files are never uploaded.
How do I unmerge a PDF I combined earlier?
Drop the merged file in and pick a mode. "Extract pages" pulls out exact pages, while "Split every page" restores the document to one file per page. Combined with the PDF Merge tool you can reorganise documents freely.
Will splitting modify my original file?
No. The tool only reads the file you select and writes new PDFs. The original stays untouched, so you can try different splits as many times as you like.
Can it split an encrypted PDF?
The tool tries to read files while ignoring encryption flags, but a document with an open password still needs to be decrypted first. A parse error usually means the file itself is damaged.
