Adds a text watermark to JPG / PNG / WebP images

About this tool

Shared pictures get reposted - a text watermark is the lightest way to sign your work and raise the cost of theft. This tool offers two modes: tiled, which repeats your text across the whole picture at the angle you pick and makes cleanup expensive, and single, which places one watermark in a corner or the centre for a quiet credit. Size, color, opacity and rotation are all adjustable.

Watermark text is rendered with your browser fonts, so Chinese, English and emoji all display correctly. A watermark is visible content: it deters casual reposting but determined editors can remove it, so keep the original file for anything that matters. Everything runs locally - images are never uploaded.

Features

  • Tiled mode: repeat the watermark across the whole picture
  • Single mode: corners or centre, ideal for credits
  • Free size, color, opacity and rotation control
  • Chinese, English and emoji render perfectly - no font downloads
  • Fully local - no upload, no signup, no limits

How to use

  2. Type the watermark text and adjust size, color and opacity
  3. Pick tiled or single mode and set the rotation (position for single mode)
  4. Click Apply, preview the result, then download

Frequently asked questions

How do I cover the whole image with the watermark?
Choose the tiled mode: the text repeats across the picture at your chosen rotation (-30° is the classic). Spacing is derived from the text size automatically; 20%-40% opacity gives a visible-but-not-intrusive result.
Can the watermark be removed?
It is visible pixels - ordinary editing cannot strip it with one click, but skilled retouching can weaken or remove it. Watermarks raise the cost of casual theft rather than providing strong protection; keep your originals for enforcement.
Does watermarking reduce image quality?
The picture is re-encoded once in the chosen format: JPG/WebP at the default 90% quality is visually indistinguishable; PNG is lossless but larger. Pick WebP for the smallest output.
Does the watermark support Chinese characters?
Yes. Text is rendered by your browser fonts, so Chinese, English, Japanese and emoji all display correctly - nothing to download or install.
