Supports .xlsx / .xls / .csv - outputs several .xlsx files
About this tool
Big workbooks get shared with different people, and million-row exports need to shrink into chunks a system can digest. This tool splits .xlsx / .xls / .csv files two ways: by worksheet (every sheet becomes its own file) or by row count (every sheet is cut into fixed-size chunks with the header row repeated on top).
Multiple outputs bundle into a ZIP automatically; a single result downloads directly as .xlsx. Splitting runs locally in your browser - the data stays on your device.

Frequently asked questions
- Do headers repeat when splitting by rows?
- Yes. The first row of each sheet is treated as the header and repeated on top of every chunk, so any chunk reads on its own.
- How are the output files named?
- By sheet: "file - sheet.xlsx". By rows: "file - sheet-001.xlsx" and upward, so the sort order matches the split order.
- Does splitting modify my original file?
- No. The original is only read; every output is a freshly generated .xlsx that you save locally.
- Are styles preserved?
- By-sheet splitting keeps values and basic data; by-rows is value-based (numbers as text to protect long IDs). Complex styles and charts are not guaranteed.
